Where are you located?

Upton Barn is located on our 60 acre private property in Drummond Township, Lanark County. We are close proximity to popular tourist communities including Perth & Carleton Place. While we understand you are excited to know the exact destination for your special event, we are more than happy to provide you with our address upon booking your guided tour.

What is your venue capacity?

We can host up to 100 guests for your wedding or special event.

When can I book my wedding or special event at Upton Barn?

Our goal, is to begin booking weddings & special events come April 2025. Guided tours will become available come June 2025 (as soon as the ground is dry), and to host your dream Wedding or Special Event as soon as September 2025. 
Couples with September & October 2025 wedding dates can expect regular photo & video updates and as progress is made to the barn and event space.

How can I join the waitlist?

Do you host more than one wedding at a time? 

You and your guests will have exclusive access to the event space for the entirety of your wedding day. In fact, you and your support team will have access to the venue grounds Friday through Sunday, giving you all the time you need to prepare for your big day.

Do you have a designated ceremony space?

We're so excited to unveil another surprise for June 2025: the perfect ceremony space to say your "I dos." Exchange vows at the end of a stunning wildflower-lined path, atop a beautiful bedrock base, overlooking your guests and breathtaking views.

What is your policy regarding outside food and beverage vendors?

We welcome any licensed & insured third-party vendors to come and service your wedding day & special event. To explore the full range of options for your event, please request our Creative Vendors List.

Could you please provide information on local accommodations for guests?

From cozy B&Bs to well-appointed hotels, your guests will have many options for a comfortable overnight stay in Perth, Carleton Place, Kanata & more: - Clyde Hall Bed & Breakfast, Lanark - Perth Parkside Inn and Spa, Perth - Nevis Estate, Perth - The Grand Hotel, Carleton Place - Brookstreet Hotel, Kanata - Holiday Inn & Suites, Kanata

Can we bring our own alcohol? 

Yes! You will need a Special Occasion Permit (SOP) from the AGCO and single-day event insurance. We are happy to provide recommendations on sourcing and serving as requested!

Do you allow pets at Upton Barn?

We love pets! You're welcome to include your furry friend in your ceremony, just please keep them leashed and ensure any messes are cleaned up.

Arrival & departure times? 

We're happy to provide you and your support team with full weekend access to the event grounds. You can begin setting up as early as 1pm on Friday and make any last-minute touches on Saturday morning starting at 11am. To ensure a smooth evening, we ask that music be turned off by 11pm and all guests depart by midnight. You and your team are welcome back on Sunday from 8am to 11am.

Is Upton Barn wheelchair accessible?

At Upton Barn, we strive to make your event accessible and enjoyable for all your guests. While we offer separate parking and a dedicated entrance for wheelchair and vendor access, our luxury portable washrooms are not currently wheelchair accessible. For guests requiring wheelchair-accessible facilities, we recommend including a wheelchair-friendly portable washroom as part of your event arrangements. We are happy to provide recommendations for local suppliers.

How do you handle weddings on rainy days?

At Upton Barn, we want your special day to be perfect, rain or shine. For smaller ceremonies, our charming 20'x40' barn offers a beautiful indoor alternative. For larger gatherings, the event tent provided offers an elegant setting, even in less-than-ideal weather. Picture your ceremony at the tent's entrance, with our stunning hydrangea gardens and historic barn creating a picturesque backdrop as you say your "I do's".
